A BIG VISION AND A BIG GOD

From humble beginnings Northside Christian Church has developed strong Biblical foundations, upon which we continue to build and expand. We honor the faithful men and women who have gone before us, knowing if it were not for their hard work, sacrifice, faith and generosity, we would not be able enjoy what is here today. They were people of vision and foresight.
The church once again stands at a pivotal point in its history where it is time to look to the future. 11 years ago God enabled us to build a large auditorium and a multipurpose hall. We thank God that since that time we have seen continued growth, which has resulted in the church not only doubling in size but also in ministry, outreach and global missions impact. Jesus commitment is to continue to build His church Matt 16:18 therefore we can expect ongoing enlargement as we move into the future.

PRESENT AND FUTURE NEEDS
A MINISTRY CENTRE
For the last two years we have been assessing our building facilities by constantly listening to people's needs in the congregation. We have also interviewed department leaders and asked them to detail present and future facility requirements. There has been an overwhelming agreement from the congregation and leaders for a dedicated ministry centre.
There is a lack of varied sized rooms for children, creative kidz, youth, worship and many other adult ministries in the church. The wooden and metal portables that are presently being used are very old and unsightly. They were only ever meant to be a temporary solution. They have served us well for the past 12 years but it is time to build permanent facilities as we look to the future. There is a need for 7-8 separate meeting rooms with operable walls giving us greater flexibility for larger church events. (for example; Easter, Christmas, Vision Sunday, Family Day etc) This is a major aspect of the proposed building project. We do not want outdated and dilapidated portables to be the legacy that we leave the next generation.
While we were looking at building a ministry centre God brought to our attention a scripture found in 1 Kings 6:5. Here we read that Solomon, after building the inner sanctuary or worship centre for people, he then proceeded to build multilevel ministry rooms all around it. There is a compelling need for us to do the same.

OTHER PRESSING NEEDS

It is also time to expand and renovate the foyer, improve the front façade of our building, provide a larger entrance into our facilities, expand the café, relocate the listening room, renovate the male toilets, provide greater storage, make provision for our recording and production team, and provide for offices and counselling rooms for the future. The entrance will be enlarged to care for the current and future movements of the congregation in a safe and appropriate manner. An enlarged cafe will enable our church to have greater connection capabilities, with those who are visiting and those of us who have made Northside our home. The improved and relocated listening room will allow parents of infants and young children to feel part of the main auditorium congregation, leading to a greater sense of inclusion.

BUILDING THE FUTURE .....TOGETHER

We need to be people of vision and foresight like those who have gone before us. People who can look into the future, and see what needs to happen now! Our focus is not on buildings. Buildings don't change lives but what goes on inside does. Providing room for growth means we will be able to see more children, youth and adults connected to God, equipped for God and serving God. These additional facilities will help us reach and disciple more people for Christ in the Northern suburbs and beyond.
The centre pages of this brochure will demonstrate that this project is significant in its scope. It will require substantial sacrifice from each one of us. We, however find ourselves in the blessed position of being debt free. We also have an enlarged capacity for giving and generosity due to growth.
God has spoken, the need is compelling, and the community is waiting - Let's do it together ...for His glory. Let's leave a legacy of blessing and faith for the generations to come.
