PARTNERING WITH MISSIONARIES

YWAM Geena & Chris Pettigrove
Geena  & Chris work in our local city of Melbourne. Geena is the YWAM Base Director in Surrey Hills and is significantly  involved in training and developing up and coming leaders and workers for the mission field.  To find out more about the work of YWAM in Melbourne visit  www.ywammelbourne.org/.

YWAM Rachel Dobbyn
After training and serving with YWAM for a number of years, Rachel has taken on the role of Base Manager in Surrey Hills.  This is a faith step as all YWAM staff raise their own  financial support.   To find out more about the work of YWAM in Melbourne visit  www.ywammelbourne.org/.

Japan - Daniel Joseph
Daniel has been a significant  member of the Church planting team in Tokyo  for the last two years. Their vision
is to reach the youth culture of Japan.  He teaches English to help support himself whilst working busily as the music director of an 'exploding church'. Daniel has assimilated with his culture, learnt the language and developed friendships that will last a lifetime. God is using him in mighty ways to touch the Japanese people

Thailand - Fay Walkling
Fay has been serving God overseas for more than 25 years.  The last 12 have been spent in the North of
Thailand where she founded a girls home and a boys home.  She has been the spiritual mum to many, but closely cares for 14 teenagers living at the Emmanuel Home.   Fay has brought  the love of Jesus very practically into the life of these boys, who were otherwise written off as hopeless by society.    She teaches and preaches fluently in Thai and mentors a number of Pastors and Bible College students.   Fay is also actively involved in village outreach and church planting in the region.

South Africa - Steve Parker
For the past 13 years, Steve has been working tirelessly in South Africa with the National Church and Bible Colleges. His dream is to educate, train and inspire  leaders and workers to reach out and see the Kingdom of God flourish in South Africa and beyond.  He is committed to raising up the next generation of Christian leadership for ministry and missions.
Steve is also connected to a local orphanage which gives him a way of supporting themselves in their own communities.

West Africa-Guinea - The Langford Family
Bruce & Meralisa, along with their five children are living & serving throughout the regions of Guinea to bring the Gospel to people who have never heard it before. They are working with local Pastors & Leaders to equip and empower them in planting churches and evangelism.  Much of their work is ground breaking and pioneering in villages where the Gospel has not been presented. They go without home comforts and modern technology so they can spread the light of the Gospel through  a dark nation.

IMPACTING CHILDREN & YOUTH
India - Vommangi Children's Home
During a missions trip to India in 2005, God connected the team with an amazing Pastor & his family who had taken 30 street children & orphans into their home. Supported only by the poor local village churches, Northside was deeply moved  by Pastor Prabhakar's devotion to these kids and now partners  with Pastor Prabhakar
and the many children that are cared for at Vommangi who are orphaned or  have parents that can't care for
them. These children are not only clothed, feed and sheltered, but they are taught the Word of God.
Prabhakar has a vision to care for 50 children.

Ps Poorna & Deepu Chand
Ps Poorna Chand & his wife Deepu have a vision to evangelise and run youth seminars in the State of Andra Pradesh. Northside Christian Church has built a good relationship with this couple and we are looking to support them prayerfully and practically as well as being “hands on” by sending teams to assist them.

Compassion Child - Sponsorship Burkina Faso
Compassion Child Sponsorship is Christ centred, Church based and all about empowering children in life
skills . They are committed to giving every child in their program a Christian Education  and so every sponsor can have the confidence that  their  child  will know about the saving grace of Christ Jesus. Over 70 children are sponsored by Northsiders and we are particularly committed to the country of Burkina Faso, a newer and challenging region of the world. Hands@Work Africa
George Snyman and his team of volunteers have a vision to be caring for 100,000 orphans by 2010. 
Their current regions of focus are Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa, Malawi, Nigeria and Swaziland. Through community based orphan care, whole villages are being transformed and given hope by the huge network of teams with a medical, social, educational and spiritual focus.  These teams are mobilized daily, visiting, supporting and consulting on all the life issues surrounding the orphans (mostly a result of the AIDS epidemic). Northside sponsors two orphan schools in Zambia, where children are taught and feed and remain

Aboriginal Youth
Every January, a team from Northside partner with YWAM on a trip to Darwin to minister to and encourage the communities there.  They spend lots of time with the children and youth in the area and bring a message of love and hope to those they connect with.

CHURCH PLANTING
Northside Partners with Christian Outreach Ministries and supports Church Planting Pastors in India.  These Pastors are committed to reaching the unreached and building strong village churches, especially throughout  Andrah Pradesh. A team from Northside regularly visits and encourages these Pastors in their ministries.  More info at  http://www.com.org.au/
LEADERSHIP TRAINING
A number of our missionaries are committed to training Pastors and leaders.  Due to the sensitive nature of the work in some regions of the world, we can only say that we partner with an amazing couple in China who
are very involved in training and impacting the minority cultures there and beyond.
